On my way to work, an aunt said good morning to me and she is a Taiwanese!! Her warm greeting makes me feel sweet all day long.
In Taipei, I don’t think it’s common to greeting people on the streets unless they know each other.
People live closed to each other but we don’t really talk with our neighbors.
Actually, I feel sad about it.
When I was in Seattle, people gave me a smile and said hi to me.
To be honest, I did feel weird for the first time but few times later, I used to say hi to people with a smile.
The feeling is just great.
When I came back to Taipei, I tried to give people a smile.
As you can guess, it didn’t work here.
Gradually, I don’t do it anymore.
However, I’m going to say hi to the aunt if I will see her tomorrow.
As long as people do greetings to me I will do it with them.
Maybe one day when I walk down the streets in Taipei, I can see people greet each other with a smile.

This pretty is one of my father’s special orchid.
It looks like a princess, doesn’t it?
